If you suffer from acute and/or chronic pain due to arthritis, sciatica, neuropathy, herniated discs, or a range of other acute, or chronic conditions, you may want to consider Multiwave Locked System (MLS) laser therapy. This noninvasive pain management solution reduces swelling and inflammation with the press of a button.
Our patients at Northeast Spine and Sports Medicine receive this treatment via two laser waves. These separate but simultaneous light waves stimulate your body’s natural healing response, promoting synergistic healing. Once the treated area absorbs the waves’ energy, you’ll experience increased blood flow, blood circulation and lymph flow, and enhanced metabolism. All of these reactions boost your body’s healing process, helping you heal faster. Many of our patients combine laser therapy with other effective treatments, such as chiropractic, acupuncture therapy or physical therapy, for optimal results.
Before beginning MLS therapy, you will receive a thorough consultation. This may include a physical exam, a review of digital imaging or discussions with other providers you see (with your consent). Once we pinpoint the source of your symptoms, we’ll administer the laser therapy to the afflicted locations. This is completed by moving the laser back and forth across the affected area. Sessions take about eight minutes on average and most patients say it’s a completely painless treatment. Some patients experience a relief of pain after their first session, though it typically takes up to 10 visits before your condition is fully managed.
