Melissa McConnell, L.Ac., is a licensed acupuncturist in the state of New Jersey and is also nationally certified by the NCCAOM.
She completed her undergraduate studies at West Chester University and graduated with degrees in athletic training and exercise physiology. She worked for over 11 years as a certified athletic trainer, caring for athletes that competed at the high school, collegiate, and Olympic levels. Melissa then returned to school and completed a program in paramedic studies, graduated and passed her national board exams, and worked as a board-certified paramedic for New Castle County Public Safety.
At 40 years old, Melissa began to pursue her passion for alternative medicine. She studied the theory of Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Won Institute of Graduate Studies and graduated in 2012 with a Master's Degree in Acupuncture Studies.
Melissa's mission is to provide people with the opportunity to heal their whole body instead of focusing on the relief of just one symptom. She focuses her treatments on the individual's overall constitution, which allows people to experience long-term relief from all of their ailments.
Melissa lives in Monmouth County and enjoys competing in triathlons, bike rides, and open water swims. She also enjoys boating along the waterways of Oceanport and Monmouth Beach.
